10 Small Accounting Firms in Singapore: A Founder's Roundup
Ten small accounting firms in Singapore compared on services, software and published prices, from Sleek and Osome to Harvest, plus how to choose.
Last updated:
October 22, 2026
Ask ten Singapore founders which accounting firm to hire and you will get ten answers, most of them based on who they went to lunch with. This guide replaces that lunch. We've put together a fair, factual roundup of small accounting firms serving Singapore SMEs, what each is good at, and how to pick.
Yes, we're one of them. We'll say what we do openly and let you compare on the same fields.
What "small accounting firm" means here
A small accounting firm serving SMEs typically offers monthly bookkeeping, annual financial statements, ECI and Form C-S filing, GST returns, payroll, and corporate-secretarial support. Some also do incorporation. Only a handful do statutory audit; that is a separate profession, and firms that offer audit are usually larger practices (Grant Thornton, RSM, Baker Tilly, and the Big Four). This roundup focuses on outsourced compliance and finance firms, not audit firms.
Harvest does not offer audit either. If your company has crossed the audit-exemption thresholds, you'll need an audit firm alongside your accounting firm.
The firms, grouped by type
Rather than rank them one to ten, which would imply a league table that does not exist, here they are grouped by how they actually work. Match the group to how you want to run your finance, then compare within it. We've put ourselves in the group we belong to, Xero specialists, and describe ourselves on the same fields as everyone else. Each summary is based on each firm's own website, checked on 22 October 2026; prices change, so confirm before you sign. Software details were checked against Xero's Singapore advisor directory in October 2026; where a firm doesn't name its software, we say so.

What each firm's starting price actually gets you
Prices are only comparable when the scope is the same. Here's what to check inside each quote before you decide.
| Scope check | Typical inclusion at a low starting price | Typical add-on cost |
|---|---|---|
| Bookkeeping frequency | Annual (year-end catch-up) | Monthly bookkeeping is S$100-S$400/mo more |
| Transaction volume | Capped at 30-50 bank/card lines a month | Overage charged per line or per bundle |
| GST filing | Not included at entry tier | S$300-S$500/quarter |
| Payroll | Not included | S$50-S$70/employee/month |
| Corporate tax (ECI + Form C-S) | Sometimes included | S$800-S$2,400/year if separate |
| Corporate secretary | Sometimes included | S$450-S$900/year |
| XBRL preparation | Not usually | S$300-S$1,000/set of accounts |
| Software | Often excluded; some firms bundle the Xero subscription | Paid direct to the software provider if not bundled |
A S$75/month "accounting" package often stops at bookkeeping and year-end filing; a GST-registered business with two employees on payroll should expect a total closer to S$400-S$1,000/month once everything is priced properly.
How to choose: seven questions worth asking
- What exactly is in the base package? Get the scope in writing, not the salesperson's summary. Confirm bookkeeping frequency, GST, payroll, tax, and corp sec inclusion.
- What's the transaction limit? Ask what counts as an "extra" transaction and how they charge for it.
- Whose software is it? Xero and QuickBooks give you data portability. A proprietary portal often does not. To confirm a firm is a Xero partner, search for it in Xero's advisor directory.
- Who does the work? A named accountant, a team, or a global back-office? Any of these can work; the wrong fit for your comms style is the problem.
- What's the response-time commitment? Ask for the actual SLA, not "we're responsive."
- What is the catch-up cost? If you're migrating messy books, expect S$500-S$2,000 in setup.
- Are they a registered corporate service provider (CSP)? Firms that file with ACRA or act as company secretary for clients must register as a CSP under the Corporate Service Providers Act 2024. You can check any firm with Bizfile's entity search.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I need a small accounting firm at all?
If you file GST, hire employees, or want monthly management accounts on Xero, an accounting firm generally pays for itself in time saved and mistakes avoided. If you have almost no transactions and no employees, DIY bookkeeping plus a year-end accountant may be enough. Our bookkeeping DIY vs outsource guide has the decision points.
Should I go with the cheapest platform?
Cheap works if your scope stays inside the base package. The problem shows up at the first GST return, the first payroll hire, or the first Xero migration. Compare quotes at the actual scope of your business, not at the platform's showcase entry price.
Is a "big" firm always safer than a small one?
No. What matters is the person or team doing your work, the software they use, and whether the firm has real experience with a business like yours. A small firm with a Xero specialist can outperform a large firm running things on spreadsheets.
Do small firms handle audits?
Most do not, ourselves included. Audit is a separate professional service that requires Public Accountant registration under ACRA. If your company crosses the audit-exemption thresholds, you'll need to appoint an auditor alongside your accounting firm.
Can I switch accounting firms mid-year?
Yes, and it's straightforward on Xero. See our guide on how to switch accounting firms in Singapore for the transition steps.
