Judging was based on five criteria: Xero knowledge and education, innovation, efficiency, digitalisation, and marketing strategy. Here are some highlights of our submission, and the things that set us apart.
Xero knowledge and education
Our team is very committed to Xero knowledge and education. Since day one, a key point of difference is that our entire client base is on Xero. We’re a Xero Platinum Champion partner which puts us in the top 2% of Xero advisors.
Beyond being up to date with Xero, Harvest has contributed time and resources to provide feedback and advice on new features of Xero. Harvest assisted with the GST direct e-filing beta testing in August 2022 and trouble-shooting. We also had discussions with the team at Xero Singapore around the transition to 8% GST, and provided advice for how system updates would be rolled out along with collateral communication materials.
We’re also proud to be the only Singaporean member of the Early Adopters Hub, which is essentially an invite-only international community of the most forward thinking accounting firms from NZ, Australia, UK, and US. The Early Adopters Hub works as an incubator for new accounting software startups to demo their apps and receive valuable feedback from pacesetting firms. This helps us to see what is new and up and coming in the world of accounting tech and keep on innovating.
By being strict on only supporting clients on Xero (or migrating clients to Xero), we’ve standardised our monthly bookkeeping services and workflow with clients. Apart from Xero, all Harvest clients submit their vendor bills and expenses through Dext by simply taking a picture on their mobile app. Standardisation has led to efficiency and savings of headcount. Our staff only have to follow one method rather than learning multiple workflows and systems. This in turn has brought about great customer satisfaction.
From day one, Harvest was envisioned to be a fully remote, “work from anywhere” firm. We just need a laptop, wifi, and a cup of coffee to get things done. When COVID-19 hit, there were no disruptions to our workflows or the way we communicate both internally and externally.
In May 2023 we were honoured to be invited by Xero to speak on CNA938 Money Mind to share about our firm as a digital practice, and how Xero has empowered us. We were grateful to broadcast our message on a respected platform.
In June 2023, we participated in a campaign for ANEXT Bank’s NEXTGEN Mavericks. This campaign was very aligned with Harvest’s values, as we shared about our “why?”, entrepreneurial story and digitalisation journey.
What a fantastic night! We are so proud of our team and how far we've come. Just five years ago Harvest Accounting was little more than an idea shared over coffee between two friends. We've now grown to a team of more than ten, spread over three countries. It means a lot to be recognised for the work we've been doing as we strive for excellence in cloud accounting and serving our clients.
This is truly a validation of what we've been steadily building at Harvest, but there is so much more to do and we are so excited for what the next five years holds.
